One Simple Change
With this week’s podcast focusing on environmental impact it only seemed fitting that we chat about it in this week’s blog.
It is undeniable that humans have had a severely negative impact on The Earth's environment. From climate change to an ocean full of plastic the world’s ecosystems are not in great shape. With 8 million tons of plastic dumped into our oceans every year, our marine life is swallowing more plastic than ever.
The longer we wait, the worse it gets.
We don’t all need to quit our jobs and become environmentalists. But what we can do is make small changes in our every day lives which collectively will have a positive effect. I know we are exceedingly busy but these changes are really easy to implement into your life to lessen your environmental impact.
Here are some really easy things you can easily do to lessen your impact on the environment:
Reusable bags whenever you are shopping
Choose loose vegetables in the supermarket
Bring your own coffee cup
Say no to plastic straws (if you want metal ones grab them from Happyway with my code happynikki for 10% off)
Go meat free one day a weekUse a bamboo toothbrush (use code NIKKI20 for 20% @bambuubrush)
Say no to balloons- especially if they are being released outdoors
Stop using plastic cutlery and plates
Recycle where possible
Be conscious of your electricity usage (this will help your bill too!)- change to LED light bulbs, unplug unused electronics
Reduce water usage- Turn the tap off while brushing your teeth or the shower when shampooing your hair
Switch to ecofriendly cleaning products
Use cold water in your washing machine
Donate old clothes to charity.
Make sure you check out this week’s podcast where I interview Rebecca Dudbridge, Director of @bambuubrsh. The podcast is available for download on Apple podcasts and Spotify.
Much love
